With customers preferring to shop online, rather than in-store, has led H-E-B expansion to 14 additional zip codes in San Antonio. H-E-B has partnered with the app-based company Shipt to deliver groceries within the hour of the customer submitting their grocery order online. Shipt will be servicing Cibolo, Converse, Helotes, Kirby, Live Oak, Universal City, Schertz and Windcrest with grocery deliveries from H-E-B and Central Market. Shipt’s employees can make $15 to $25 per hour. Instacart is another grocery delivery service in San Antonio which offers customers the ability to place orders at not only H-E-B and Central Market but also Whole Foods Market Inc., Spec’s, Total Wine & More, Petco, and Costco Wholesale Corporation. Shipt and Instacart have stepped up to help retailers compete against Amazon and to improve customer satisfaction with the grocery shopping experience. Customers may sign up for annual membership of $99 and if the order exceeds $35 the delivery will be free.
